My public service evolved from the question that put me on this career path: why are buildings still being built that are not accessible? It is essential that all citizens have equitable not equal access to opportunities, experiences, businesses, etc. The difference between these two types of access can be seen in the picture to the left. If all citizens are given equal access to, in this example, a soccer game, then there is still inequality to some of the citizens. However, if the citizens are given equitable access, then they are each able to enjoy the soccer game in their own way. This is the pinnacle of my public service philosophy - to ensure equity through accessibility to all citizens.
